The "Kate Plus Eight" reality star and mother of famous sextuplets and twins Kate Gosselin is celebrating the 7th birthday of her sextuplets today on May 10, 2011. Kate is throwing two parties to celebrate the day. Some think that perhaps she is compensating her absence on mothers day and arranging not one but two parties.
On mother's day she left her kids at home with their father and appeared at the festivities surrounding the 137th Kentucky Derby in Louisville in a black striped dress and large rimmed hat. She bids on an Elvis Prisley print and a Pittsburgh Steelers-signed helmet during the silent auction to benefit March Dames at Style Icon Luxury Gifting Suite held friday at Galt House. She spent the time of her stay with some other eventful and enjoyable moments with her friends. Her hat drew every ones attention as it was as high-fashioned as in the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The first party will be just for the family in personal style and homely manner with family friends, but the second party will be filmed by the TLC crew for their reality show, "Kate Plus Eight."
She sometimes really acts like a mother and has some likings and dislikings as she recently threw away an offer of $400,000 for a nude pose for Playboy magazine as New York Daily News says.

Kate Gosselin acted with her husband Jon and their eight children who are co-stars of TV series Jon & Kate Plus 8 from 2007-09 is a nurse by training, but the success of her "reality" show gave her a new career as a TV star, a touring speaker and the author of the books Multiple Blessings (2008) and Eight Little Faces (2009). Kate and Jon married in 1999 and used modern fertility enhancement methods to have twin girls in 2000 (Cara and Madelyn, born 8 October). Three years later Kate's fertility treatments were again successful and she delivered sextuplets (Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel, born 10 May 2004).
The Gosselin family appeared in a 2006 TV special, Surviving Sextuplets and Twins, then returned to TV a year later with Twins and Sextuplets, which in turn led to Jon & Kate Plus 8, a weekly show that followed the family's ups and downs. Prior to the 2009 season the Gosselins' public lives became perhaps too public, as rumors of infidelity (on Jon's part)aroused many questions. Their family life became tensed and their show became a subject of criticism. Eventually they announced their plans to divorce in an episode that aired 22 June 2009, and for the next season the name of the show became Kate Plus Eight, with a focus on Kate's role as a single mother. As Jon refuse to act, the show stopped. In 2010 Kate started work in Dancing With the Stars.
Gosselin is an author of several books. Her first book was published in November 2008, titled "Multiple Blessings." It debuted at number 5 on New York Times Best-Seller list, and sold over 500,000 copies by the end of 2009.[14] Her second book, "Eight Little Faces", was released in April 2009, and also debuted at number 5 on the New York Times Best-Seller list. Her third book, titled "I Just Want You To Know" was released on April 13, 2010, selling approximately 10,000 copies in its first week and debuting at number 103 on the New York Times Best-Seller list.
