J'ADR Anna Dello Russo.

Current Editor at Large Vogue Nippon (Japan), owner of over 4000 pairs of shoes, an editorial shoot in the flesh, the personification of Fashion, international blog-phenomenon, owning her own ADR-fragrance, endless source of inspiration for thousands, close friend to many fashion designers, forty something and fabulous,…

“Anna Dello Russo is not just any fashion editor. You can tell that as soon as she walks into a room, looking like a living, breathing editorial page from Vogue Japan, her Condé Nast powerhouse. Today, she is wearing a leopard-print Lanvin dress, Bulgari jewels and Manolo Blahnik shoes. A fairly standard fashion editor wardrobe, you might think. Except Dello Russo has affixed a pair of bowling ball-sized fibreglass cherries to her head – she also sported a gold version at the autumn/winter 2011 New York shows, with a rodeo-fringed leather coat to match. Dello Russo's train of thought is simple: "It's my first job to make myself up. I style myself like I style a model. You should put your passion on yourself before translating to other people.”

Fashion is more than just the clothing, it’s a whole lifestyle, it’s something you wake up with and something you go to bed with, you can never turn it off, you are it or you aren’t.
Like Coco Chanel said: “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street; fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” There lies the genius of Anna Dello Russo, she just embodies this lifestyle/belief, and there is no room for anything else. To quote Miss Dello Russo: “I don’t want to be cool, I want to be fashion.” It’s because of that statement that everybody in the blog-o-sphere loves her. She does it all because the clothes are in line with her personality, the fashion is a part of her personality. She is the person she has to be, through her clothing, because of the clothing. It is her essential way of expressing. She doesn’t care about what anyone thinks, she doesn’t want to impress anybody. That makes her extremely fun and very happy. That happiness, that ambiance is captured in photos, and that is why she’s a much photographed editor. That is the reason why she’s an inspiration. You can never be truly fashion, as long as it is not only about the collections, as long as you are focused too much on what others perceive you to be. True fashion-addicts are not pretentious. Anna is never pretentious, and that is why J’ADR ADR.
