Jessica Chastain, a promising star:
Jessica Chastain, 30, is emerging as an excellent star which she already proved through her work and recognition given her by the people that know the filmography well. She may be the busiest actress in Hollywood in the coming years. As many as half a dozen of her films are rolling into theaters in the coming months. Last week in Cannes International Film Festival she was busy promoting her upcoming film "Tree of Life." Terrence Malick won the highly coveted award Palme D'Or this year for this film. She plays opposite Brad Pitt, whom she calls "perfect" and is relieved that this film, along with a slew of previous projects (some of which she filmed four years ago), are finally hitting the big screen.

This veteran stage actress's only two of the 11 films in the past four years released so far. Some of her other films, among them the Holocaust-revenge thriller "The Debt" with Helen Mirren, were delayed because of distribution troubles, so they now are coming to theaters around the same time as dramas she shot more recently, including this summer's best-seller adaptation "The Help."
Three other Chastain films – "Coriolanus" with Ralph Fiennes, "Take Shelter" with Michael Shannon and "The Fields," reuniting her with "The Debt" co-star Sam Worthington – also are tentatively scheduled to come out by the end of the year.
"I'm just nervous that I'm going to be the newcomer that every one's sick of, and they don't even know my name. People are like, 'Why is this girl in every single movie I'm seeing this fall?'" Chastain said in an interview at the Cannes Film Festival. "Take Shelter" also screened at Cannes.
Chastain grew up in northern California and dreamed of becoming an actress from about the age of 5, despite her family's expectations that she would grow out of it. Her father Howard is fireman, her mother Chastain is a "stay-at-home mom slash vegan chef." Chastain said that her parents never discouraged her about the prospects of acting, they did not encourage her, either. By her persistence and after she got into the drama department at Juilliard her parents shifted to Los Angeles. After that she had not turned back to her what is called disappointment.
